Each month we will ask a different tribe member 10 questions so that you #MeetTheTribe and get to know more about their backgrounds, passions, and interests.
Today we’re sitting down with Hailey Wilson, the newest addition to the tribe, who will be working on building meaningful relationships with potential partners, learning about their business challenges and goals, and proposing expert marketing solutions.
Q) Hi, Hailey. Where are you from?
Chandler, Arizona. It’s very similar to San Antonio, except there’s no humidity! There’s a lot of outdoorsy stuff to do there like the float the river, hike, go to sporting events.
Q) Where did you go to college, what did you study and why?
Trinity University. I studied communication and sports management because although small interests of mine changed over time, the interests that stayed consistent were talking to people, writing and playing sports. Trinity’s program is really cool – it allows you to explore aspects such as business and leadership, and they also help you with getting internships.
Q) What would you say is your best skill?
Emotional intelligence and reading people – this is something I work on a lot. Knowing how to respond in certain situations, whether they are good or bad.
Q) What do you like to do outside of work?
I love to travel, especially to Hawaii which has been my favorite place ever since I was little. Maui and Kauai, especially. I also love spending time with and talking to my family, listening to music and going to concerts, and discovering coffee shops I haven’t been to before. I really like Mila here in San Antonio.
Q) What are some small things that make your day better?
Talking to my family for sure. I call my parents and sister every single day.
Q) Are there any movies, podcasts, or tv shows that you recommend?
I just watched a really good TV show that I’d recommend, it’s called ‘When They See Us’. It was about this old court case in new york where these boys were convicted for something they were innocent for.
My favorite podcast is ‘Crime Junkies’ and my favorite movie of all time is ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ – I’d recommend both of these.
Q) What is the best book you’ve ever read?
Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult – it’s a novel about a family who visits a hospital needing treatment for their baby, but they refuse treatment because the nurse is African American. The nurse has to make the decision about whether or not to listen to them. It was incredibly powerful and it really got me thinking.
Q) What’s next on your bucket list?
Bungee jump! I just did a skydive and so now I wanted to do something similar.
Q) What are you looking forward to in the coming months?
Getting acclimated to my first job after college and learning all about the company and myself. I’m also looking forward to seeing my Grandma and going to Hawaii!
Q) What is your favorite thing about Tribu so far?
Definitely the people, everyone is very kind and makes the work environment fun to come into. I’ve been here for 5 days and I’ve never once felt uncomfortable – everyone makes me feel at home.
Welcome home, Hailey! We’re so excited to see you grow and develop relationships with our future tribe partners.
