Everyone loves deadlines, right?Well actually... most people don’t, but as a Project Manager for a fast-paced digital marketing and design agency, I love them.If you are in the business world, especially the marketing world, you know how difficult it can be to manage multiple projects and keep up with their various deadlines. Constant deadline pressure can lead to mistakes and a lack of creativity, so time management and accountability are key to keeping everything running smoothly.First things first, why is it important to meet deadlines?

  1. It proves credibility and helps to grow trust in your business
  2. It encourages loyalty amongst clients, customers, and coworkers
  3. It increases overall productivity

So in conclusion, deadlines matter.Lucky for you, Tribu’s been in this business for a while, 10 years to be exact, and we’ve found the tried and true processes and strategies that work.

  1. Create a Timeline

Timelines are essential to any project. Whether we are flying through a quick turnaround project or kicking off a new retainer, step 1 should always be to create a timeline.Timelines are not only helpful in organizing the work that needs to be done, but they also hold everyone accountable for completing their work. They encompass what the project will accomplish and help to set clear direction and priorities from the get-go.

  1. Identify Dependencies

If two or more tasks can’t be started or finished without the starting or completion of another task, they are dependencies. Identifying these at the beginning of the project will help with predicting and meeting timelines. When task dependencies are properly defined, work can move forward without hiccups. For example, a website cannot be officially launched until all of the copywriting and design have been completed, so make sure to plan for all of these tasks during the creation of the timeline.

  1. Organize and Prioritize

When you think about it, you can break down practically any project into smaller tasks to easily identify everything it requires. If we were launching a new paid advertising campaign for a brand, we would first start by brainstorming and generating creative ideas. Once we narrow down a campaign idea, we define the deliverables that need to accompany it and task things out from there in an organized manner.Prioritization is also an integral part of the project management process as it helps keep everyone focused on the most important tasks at hand. Even as we’re working on multiple projects at the same time, we schedule each according to their respective deadlines and priorities to ensure a completed project.

  1. Track and Communicate

When you and your team are immersed in multiple project deadlines, it’s easy for something to fall through the cracks. Transparency is essential for everyone to be able to track progress and communicate as needed. Tribu uses Asana, a project management software, that significantly improves workflow management for both Tribu and our clients. Businesses thrive on effective communication and collaboration with both coworkers and partners. All of this is to say that when you have the right people and processes, there is no reason to be scared of deadlines. When you start a project with Tribu, you can be sure that the processes in place will ensure a product that is both on time and to the partner’s satisfaction. Next time you’re in the market for design or web work, make sure to keep Tribu top of mind.
